The design and planning phase can take as little as 30-45 days if you are decisive. The construction phase typically takes six to ten months from start to finish, depending on complexity and how efficiently you make decisions. We lay out the full timeline early, explain what happens when, and keep progress visible through our shared construction management app so you always know what’s next and where things stand. When decisions are made clearly and on schedule, the process moves efficiently and predictably.

In our experience, building feels stressful when decisions are unclear or rushed. Therefore, our job is to put decisions in the right order, narrow options, and carry the complexity behind the scenes for you. You’ll be able to remotely track the entire project and make selections, leave comments and even upload inspirational images to be shared with our entire team through our construction management app. You stay involved where it matters, without the process taking over your life.

We start that work in the initial interest call by clarifying your financial boundaries, and we continue to keep your long-term goals and priorities front and center as the home takes shape.

That hesitation is common. Many clients come to us deciding between staying put, buying something existing, or building new. While buying an existing home can intially seem faster and easier, in the long-run, the renovations often carry added uncertainty and complexity. People who choose to build typically value clarity, control, and long-term performance. Building allows you to design for how you actually live in today's reality (not something from the 1900’s with narrow kitchens, outdated or absent bathrooms, low ceilings with popcorn texture, or energy guzzlers with hidden defects). We start with clean, efficient systems, and avoid inheriting hidden issues that often come with older homes—reducing surprises around maintenance, energy use, and repairs down the road.

While every situation is different, many clients find it helpful to know that an annual household income of $100K–$200K+ is often a reasonable starting point for considering a custom design + build project with us. From there, what matters most is how your income aligns with your broader financial goals and what you want to comfortably afford.

We use formal work orders, purchase orders, and shared project management software so you can see exactly where your investments are going, what’s been approved, and how each decision affects the whole.

We also prioritize long-standing, vetted trade partners and give strong preference to insured contractors in an industry that isn’t heavily regulated. That protects you, the trades, and the project itself.
